BOOK YOUR TRAVEL
If you fly internationally, we strongly recommend you arrive in Switzerland at least one day early to ensure that travel delays and jet lag do not disrupt your retreat.
Retreat Dates: August 3 - 8th, 2025
Fly into Geneva (GVA) or Zurich no later than August 2nd
Flying into Geneva is the quickest and least expensive way to travel to our retreat. Geneva is a large city with many wonderful sights, and a spectacular old town to stay in or visit! (You may also fly into Zurich (ZRH), though travel from Zurich is a bit longer.)
Travel to Verbier on August 3rd
Most guests travel to Verbier by train from the Geneva Airport. There is a 3.5-hour journey around Lake Geneva by two trains and one cable car to reach the W Verbier (approx. $100 USD).
Once your plane lands in Geneva (GVA), you can take a train from the Geneva Airport rail station (in the Brig direction) to the Martigny station. Sit on the south side of the train if you can, for views of Lake Geneva. In Martigny, change to a regional train to Les Châble. From Les Châble, take the cable car (gondola) to Verbier. The W Hotel will be right in front of you as you arrive by cable in Verbier.
You may purchase your train tickets in advance here. Alternatively, you m ay arrange an airport shuttle pick up with the W Verbier directly.
Retreat ends morning of August 8th.
After our farewell yoga and brunch, checkout from the hotel is at 11 am. Depart from the hotel for you onward or homeward travel.

Weather
August is a fantastic time to be in the Swiss Alps. The average daily temperatures are in the mid 70’s and there is sunshine, with chances for rain. This is the perfect time to be outside, enjoying the sunshine and hiking! The evenings can cool down so be sure to bring a layer for dinners outside.
Money/Cash/Credit Cards
The Swiss franc (CHF) is the official currency in Switzerland. However, you can pay with Euros in many shops, hotels, rail stations, and gas stations. We recommend you bring a bank card and an international credit card that does not charge you for each purchase you make. A great way to get cash is to use your card at ATM machines which will give you currency in CHF. The W Resort will accept all major credit cards for spa services and other additional amenities purchased at the hotel.
Wifi & Cell Service
Yes, there is cellular service in Verbier, and there is WiFi in your room as well as on the W Resort grounds. Please keep digital devices in your room. We strive to keep our common spaces free for relaxing and socializing. This is an opportunity to let your digital devices go to sleep, so you can wake up! Power Adapter We recommend utilizing a "Europlug" (also called a "c plug"), which is compatible with all continental European outlets (types E, F, J, K and L).
Yoga Props
The W Verbier has excellent yoga mats and props available, though if you love yours, you can always bring your own.
Hotel Amenities
Bathroom amenities, hair dryers, and laundry service are available at the W Verbier.
Immunizations & Health
As global travelers, we are used to needing immunizations before traveling to certain regions. Most countries and airlines will require proof of COVID vaccination upon entry. For ease of travel, the safety of our travelers and teachers, and our own liability, we do ask that you receive a COVID vaccination, in accordance with the public health authorities in your country of origin.
Tips & Gratuities
There is no obligation to tip in Switzerland. Swiss Federal Law requires all service charges be included in published prices. Waiters here are paid decent salaries, and so do not depend on tips for their livelihood. However, many people in Switzerland do add a small tip, but not the 10-20% common in other countries. If you are satisfied with your meal feel free to round up the amount to the nearest 5 to 10 francs. If you are really delighted with the service or you are in a larger group, add a little more. For a single coffee or a beer, the Swiss will add .50c to 1FR or so.
Spa Appointments
It is advised to book your optional spa appointments in advance to ensure you receive the times you prefer. Refer to the schedule above to select ideal times that do not conflict with classes and hikes. (Do let the spa know you are retreating with Euphoria in case there are any discounts available).

CHECK YOUR PASSPORT VALIDITIY NOW!
To travel to Europe you need a passport that is valid for at least 6 months from arrival date. Citizens from the US and EU do not require visas. From other countries, please check online to see if you need a visa to travel to Switzerland.
Travel regulations may vary based on country of origin and vaccination status.
We recommend you make 3 copies of your passport: keep one on you during international travel, one in your purse or backpack, and one in your checked luggage.
