Arrival Day: December 28
Fly to Puerto Vallarta airport (PVR), arriving no later than 4:00 pm, in time to catch the last boat to the resort. Retreat officially begins that evening at dinner with a opening toast at 7:30 pm.
Departure Day: Jan 4
Book your return flight no earlier than 11:00 am. On departure day, group transfers will be staggered throughout the morning (8 am - 2 pm) to accommodate your flight schedule. Book your departure flight no earlier than 11 am. Anyone needing to leave Xinalani before 8 am will need to pay for transport individually at the cost of $25.
Getting from the Airport to Xinalani
Included in your package is round-trip transportation to/from the Puerto Vallarta airport (PVR). Meet at the VIP booth inside the last terminal before you exit. Check in and you’ll be greeted and driven by a pre-paid cab to the marina, where you will be transferred in a small boat 45 minutes south to Xinalani.
You must arrive to Puerto Vallarta Airport by 4:00 pm to catch the last boat. Once you clear immigration you will proceed to baggage claim. After picking up baggage, pass through two rooms of timeshare representatives that will offer you help, information, free drinks, and excursions. Keep moving toward the exit, but stay inside the airport. Look for the VIP Guest Desk located just outside the baggage claim at the international arrivals gate. VIP works with Xinalani to bring guests to the harbor. They will have your name, and as soon as everyone from your boat group arrives, VIP will take you by pre-paid taxi (5- minute drive) to "Marina Vallarta - Terminal Maritima” - Gate #9 or #11.
Terminal Marítima, also known as API, is located in front of Hospital San Javier. It's where the pirates' boat excursion boards. All cab drivers know where that is. You will be sent your boat transfer time 1 weeks in advance of the retreat. Xinalani schedules the boat transfer times once all guests’ arrival times are confirmed (please send your travel details as soon as you have them!). For the 45-minute small boat ride from the Marina to Xinalani, we recommend you wear sunscreen, sunglasses, short pants, and amphibian shoes or comfortable sandals, as you may get wet up to your knees when you hop off the boat to get on shore at Xinalani or you will have a 10 minute walk through the small village to the resort (weather dependent).
If your flight is delayed and you miss your boat
If your flight is late or if you encounter any kind of delay, please contact Xinalani directly. If your flight is late they will know it, as they track flights directly on the internet. The boat can wait for you up to 5:00 pm. If you miss this last boat, you will need to stay the night in a hotel in Puerto Vallarta, and will be picked up at the marina next morning.

Weather
December weather in Mexico is beautiful! Days can be hot and evenings a bit cooler. We encourage you to check the 10-day weather forecast to pack appropriately.
Money, Cash, Credit Cards
Let your credit card company know you will be traveling. You will need cash for excursions, spa treatments and gratuities. There are no ATMs at Xinalani so best to obtain cash from the ATM at the airport. To pay bar bills, laundry, etc, you may credit cards (except American Express). Xinalani accepts both US Dollars or Mexican Pesos (MXN).
Wifi & Cell Service
There is Wi Fi access in the reception, but not in most rooms. Depending on your carrier, you may or may not have cell service. If not, you may use Skype or WhatsApp. If there is an emergency you may use the hotel land line of course!
Please note that we strive to keep our common spaces free for centering, relaxing, and socializing. Consider this an opportunity to let your digital devices go to sleep, so you can wake up!
Drinking Water
The water from the faucets is safe for showering and other necessities but not to drink. There is purified water provided throughout the resort. Please bring a stainless steel water bottle to fill up.
Power & Electricity
Mexico uses standard North American outlets (like US). Please do not bring a hairdryer, as the light electricity at this eco-resort cannot handle them.
Yoga Mats & Props
Xinalani provides all yoga mats, (Manduka brand mats. Pro Black Model. Thick and heavy, wide and large.) Plus, blocks, belts and blankets. If you are very particular about a certain mat, and you have room in your luggage, we advise bringing only a thin travel mat to lay over the studio mats.
Hotel Amenities
Xinalani provides body soap, shampoo and conditioner. Hair dryers are not allowed at Xinalani, as they take too much power. 24 hour Laundry service is available and added to your room bill.
Tips & Gratuities
At the end of the retreat you are encouraged to consider giving approximately $15 USD per day (cash) for the staff, and are welcome of course to give additional tips to anyone who has made your stay particularly special!
The staff at Xinalani are amazing, caring for your every need, with smiles! They come from a small pueblo next to Xinalani and do rely on gratuities as part of their income.
